When will enough be enough?

Americans searching for Common Sense after University of Georgia Student Killed by Illegal Immigrant.

“Laken was an amazing daughter, sister, friend, and overall person in general. Her love for the Lord was exemplified in every aspect of her life. She will be missed every day, but we promise to honor her life moving forward in a very big way.” – Family Statement

Laken Riley, a nursing student at the University of Georgia was murdered by an illegal immigrant last Thursday. Riley, found dead in a wooded area on campus, near Lake Herrick, was said to have suffered “blunt force trauma” as cause of death.

The following day, authorities arrested a 26-year-old Venezuelan national named Jose Antonio Ibarra, for the murder. After crossing the border illegally in September of 2022 and released into the Country by Biden Administration DHS, Ibarra continued to disregard the rule of law after moving to New York and being charged with endangering the welfare of a child. New York DA Alvin Bragg, who is too busy indicting Presidential Candidate Donald Trump, once again let another criminal back out on the street in New York, while refusing to notify ICE. The only difference is, this time, an innocent young woman was murdered as a result.

Following his release, Ibarra moved to Georgia to live with his brother, who previously worked at the University.

After being arrested and released with no bail in New York, this individual's next crime was taking the life of Laken Riley.

It is so horrific to see a young, innocent life taken when it could be avoided. To witness another American family, have to say goodbye to a loved one, when it did not have to be this way. Our hearts ache for Laken’s family and friends as they try to wrap their heads around what happened this past week.

As we reflect on the facts of this evolving case, it is hard to ignore the blatant disregard for common sense policy that could have avoided this tragedy. For years, we have been told that the border is secure by Biden officials, and yet, over 7 million illegal immigrants have entered the country since Biden took office.

The Biden Administration’s border policy enables criminals, and puts Americans lives at risk.

From day one, President Biden intentionally acted to reverse policies that secure our border. Since then, we have dealt with deadly drugs consistently pouring into our country, killing countless Americans, rising crime in cities, while an overwhelming number of migrants are occupying hotels, and community centers, of towns and cities who cannot afford to take on so many dependents. Yet, nothing has changed. There has been no action from local leaders or members of congress, while their communities are being overrun, forcing them to prioritize illegal immigrants over their own citizens.

But now, innocent women, like Laken Riley, who was on a run on her own college campus, are in danger… When will enough be enough? Unfortunately, Laken was not the first young American Woman to be killed by an illegal immigrant, I hope she is the last.

It is common sense to secure our borders, it is common sense to lock up criminals, it is common sense to secure our communities by securing our southern border.

The Common-Sense Platform - Secure borders are required for the sustainable functioning of a sovereign nation. A robust legal immigration policy that prioritizes security is a fundamental element of the United States. Threats from open borders, such as human trafficking, drug smuggling, and mass illegal immigration must be addressed by consistent law enforcement. It is Common Sense to secure the border and stop the illegal entry of migrants and drugs while maintaining a robust immigration process.
